On Wednesday night we took another look at
Philippians chapter four verses one through seven.
Remember that as Paul wrote this letter he was in
prison in Rome. This is the same Paul who with Silas
had been beaten by the authorities when they had first come to Philippi. Dr Luke tells us in the
Book of Acts, “and the magistrates tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten
with rods. 23 And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison,
commanding the jailer to keep them securely. 24 Having received such a charge, he put them into
the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks.25 But at midnight Paul and Silas were
praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.” We find in these
verses God’s formula for us each to have peace in our lives. Why not have a brief moment of
prayer and ask the Lord to help you receive fully His gift of peace to you today?
Peace is Part of Our Spiritual Inheritance.
