The Apostle Paul tells us repeatedly that salvation is not something we work for. It is a free gift. But becoming Christ-Like is hard work and requires a continual filling of the Holy Spirit. That is another way of saying that we are living a life submitted to the Holy Spirit..... or Putting on the New Man.

Sunday, we looked at how we can be imitators of God. Remember how we marveled
together that somehow we are supposed to mimic the way God is. We are not just to
do what He tells us to do, but we must also do as He does. And so much of that gets
into loving one another because God is love. Today we’re diving even deeper into how
the Body of Christ is to operate. We talk to people about accepting Jesus as Savior, but
we often soft sell it and we hold back when it comes to explaining the work that will
come after the free gift of salvation.
